Contrary to what you might think, email marketing today is still the #1 source of revenue for all businesses. In fact, 99% of people check their email every day. 73% of millennials prefer email communication when receiving marketing material.
SUBJECT LINE:
CURIOSITY
- Someone is going through their inbox, they’re scrolling through the different email subject lines in their inbox. You want to be able to pique their curiosity enough to get them to open your email. Two effective email subject lines are:
- Quick Question - This subject line seems more personal and as such has a higher likelihood of getting opened. Ask a simple question that gets them thinking and will lead them to click on a link or contact you directly for more information. Â The whole point of this email is typically to get them to respond to you.
- Did You See This?  - This is a good subject line for the type of email where you want to lead them to your website for instance. A lot of times I’ve sent this email as a follow-up to a previous email.
Â
A NUMBERED LIST
People love lists but no one wants to go through a big long list. Following the KISS strategy here, keep your lists very short. With these subject lines, people will know what to expect when they open the email.

HITTING PAIN POINTS
This type of email can play into the emotional side of things and if you’ve done some study on sales and marketing in the past, you know that certain people like to go through and respond just to the logical side of things, and other people are more emotionally based. They want to connect with other people just like them and that’s why these email subject lines work. The trick to making this work is to clearly identify your lead's pain point that will really connect and resonate with that person. I really like this Avatar subject line technique because it appeals to the logical and emotional side of things and it gets someone to click and then once they open it up, you can dive deeper.

TELL A STORY
People love to hear stories about overcoming odds, or some kind of adversity. Well, a big part of working as a real estate agent is doing just that for our clients. During our weekly sales meeting, I always hear at least one new story from agents who had to overcome some kind of obstacle to win the bid or find a buyer for their client. The problem is that these stories never leave the room! Use stories that demonstrate your creativity, knowledge, determination, etc.
